on the recent 'river cottage veg' series, hugh visited a japanese couple with an allotment who follow the shojin ryori method of cooking and eating. he was shocked that they had no fridge.
they...
i didn't even know they did breakfasts.
i'd maybe take my own spread for the toast and have something like beans on toast, that's a respectable and non-unusual breakfast option.
do they have any...

I got two japanese recipe books for christmas, one specifically is about temple cooking which is vegan. i'm looking forward to having a go.
Mt fave bit from the series was the Japanese Temple cooking item. The couple grew their own veg and only harvested what they needed that day and used it all up. They didn't have a fridge, which...

i feel the cold and really hate drafts. i don't even like to be in the direction of a fan on a hot day, especially on my face.
paying out for my electric blanket for the bed was the best £40 i...
i did a vegan and veggie nutritional therapist diploma ages ago. although it's not an accredited diploma, i reckon i am more qualified than some docs.
doctors are not nutritionists, although some may be enlightened regarding food as medicine.
they are more chemists than anything, understanding the deficiency and result effect which needs...
i'm really enjoying this latest 'veg' series of hugh's, and i'm going to get the book for christmas.
i watched it last night and i think it is pretty basic science and food nutrition knowledge. All the diets seemed sensible (sans the fish and flesh bits).
i was thinking, cynically, that...
well, i just had a simple but so tasty breakfast - sliced banana, chopped fresh pineapple, generous drizzle of maple syrup and generous sprinkle of cinnamon - yum!
WOW blueberries, i love the look of that oriental broth soup too!
thanks for the pic and the link to the blog.
oh right, the dehydrated mince, i see what you mean now.
i've certainly never thought of making porridge from it, i'm not sure i could get over my idea that it is a 'savoury' product. without the...
i love the little giraffe peeping out from the grass - what is that, a little fork type thing or just a toy? :)
are there any aggravating problems? can you explain a little more please?

i'm not raw at the moment but i found that the hardest times were those 'snacky' times when i would have baked cookies and chips etc because more fruit just wouldn't do!
i'm more easy on myself...

homemade marshmallows?? - i'm impressed blueberries!!
70% is as dark as i like to go, just because of the buzziness i get after that, i don't like it.

mmmm firestorm, i'm liking the look of your overnight oats and tofu yung, is it a kind of tofu 'omelette'?
the 'use' word is very emotive and has all sorts of connotations.
one can argue that riding lessons for mentally or physically disabled people is 'using' the horse for the physical or emotional...
like cobweb, i must admit to avoiding beansprouts for now - which is a real shame as i adore them and we made a lot of asian food. i am even a bit jittery about sprouting my own :(
i view veggies with compassion as........getting there.
