I also like the vegetable creations range, particularly the hot date chutney, rice balls, spinach & potato rolls and the dhal pie
The Blue Lotus Macrobiotic rice burgers (which do not contain honey like the description says) is yummy
Pitango soups are delicious - the Indian pea and vegetable soup, tomato soup, tuscany ribollita (minestrone) and pumpkin soup are all vegan
Originally I started this in the Australia thread, but a couple of non-Aussies posted there too - so maybe we can all share our favourite products and that way, if we ever go abroad we know what yummy things to look for
Korn, feel free to delete the Aussie thread

I will not eat anything that walks, swims, flies, runs, skips, hops or crawls.
That's a great idea Korn
How could I forget sweet williams soy chocolate? Especially Tangerine It isn't fair though, coz I am not supposed to have cocoa
Oh and Muso mungbean and soybean chips
I like Vitasoys Lush Chocolate soymilk. mmmmm.... and Fruccio's Dutch Chocolate Ice cream.
Available in Australia are Liebers white chocolate chips which are vegan. You can buy them at Kosher supermarkets
Whisk and pin make excellent muesli and dried fruit - mmmmmmm the strawberries and wild figs are particularly good - and the bircher muesli is to die for - if only it wasn't so expensive..........
hi,
i really love the soy chocolate by sweet william...although it contains sugar...im trying to find out if it is not processed thru a bone char...tricky to find out but im trying my best.. they have originial, roasted almond, and tangerin flavour..they used to be $1.50 a bar at coles..but a few months back they pushed up the price to $1.75 a 50gram bar, so its not cheap. If anyone knows re their sugar, it'd be great..i just logged onto their website at www.sweetwilliam.com.au and remembered that they have another flavour called rice crackle...plus i also saw that they have a (cane) sugar free bar...i guess that's the one i'll be going for from now onwards...who cares if i dont get other flavours but at least i am not having sugar that could be process via bone char.

No Aussie sugar is bone-char processed, so Sweet Williams is okay.

I think tempah is bleyagh but yesterday went to Soul Mama's for a FUNdraiser (the fun was waiting two hours for the entree) and they served a satay tempeh which was bloody yummy. It didn't have that pasty consistency that tempeh often does (like offal - kidney *gag*) but was soft like it had been stewed in liquid peanut butter.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
And I can almost hear again after the vegan chef extrodinnaire who organised the lunch pointed the microphone she had just finished speaking through at her husbands beautiful Fender combo amplifier which it was plugged into and the resulting feedback blew out all our eardrums and probably the cone in his speaker.
Tee hee...
Hello! um i was wondering if anyone knows where to find tofutti producvt in south australia? I can never find any good conveiniance food like the pizza pizzaz or tofutti cuties etc! thank you!
happycow
The Coles store on Grote St has some tofutti cheeses as well as some great vegan junk food (in the cheese/yogurt fridges there's a vegetarian section). Haven't seen tofutti cuties anywhere however.
I was also wondering if anybody knows if there is a place to buy Soylati icecream anywhere in Adelaide??
Can't help you there - but let me verify that the Cream Caramel Soylati is deliciousImapeach
Thats Imapeach, i shall check it out sumtime this week i reckon!
Unfortunately i havnt seen any soylati around, but here is the adress at which you can email soyganic to find out where they stock there products.
I hope its useful to you (you could also visit their website if you havnt already done so)

ooOooOoohh.. thanks a bunch! Will report findings asap!
By the way - I tried that Sweet William Tangerine Chocolate when I was in Australia and Mmmmmm - it reminded me of Jaffas!! Yum!
The company that I work for is now importing Darrel Lea licorace into Canada. We are selling it 2 for the price of one right now. Of course I stocked up!!! We cannot keep the Mango flavour on the shelves - it sells out right away!!
Ok. I emailed the Soylati people and here is where you can purchase the icecream in the Adelaide area:
Foodland North Adelaide.
IGA North Adelaide
IGA City East
Coles Unley
time to go shopping!
I have seen Amy's canned soups lingering around a few Health food stores.
My boyfriend bought me the Tangerine choc the other day, and it was 'sugar free'??? It tasted the same, so "Maltitole" must be some non-sugar-formRoxy
Yes, some genious has FINALLY come up with a formula that represents Australia's most missed when overseas products - Arnott's Tim Tams and Arnotts Mint Slices, in a cruelty free, yet still amazingly delicious form
Check these leda luxury biscuits out and get your hands on it ASAP
WARNING: May cause confusion that you are consuming an animal product, but rest assure, YOU ARE NOT!!!!
I love LEDA products.... I need to find these luxury biscuits (beer sucked through a tim-tam!).
Mmmm, Leda chocolate biscuits.. I don't buy them too often, they're too decadent. Has anyone ever tried using them like a tim-tam straw?? lol
My daughter loves Fruccio Dutch Choc ice-cream and the original Sweet Williams choc.
My latest favourite is Soyco Japanese Tofu. Sanitarium's Savoury Lentils are pretty good mixed with veges to make a shepherd's pie.
Bread.. 'Simple' brand bread mix, it's vegan and gluten free. We use Simple's pasta too.
Thanks for the leda biscut tip. I went searching for them after reading this thread, finaly found them yesterday. Good timing because i had a non vegan friend with me who I've been sharing lots of info with and she tried one and thought they were great too.
Hey JacquiJacqui
Please tell me where you bought em I can't find em anywhere, I live in Marrickville but I'll drive kms to get em, could you tell me the shop please, please, please?
Antony drooling
I got mine from "About Life", new store in Rozelle. Coles seems to carry some of that brand but not the decadent chocolate biscuts.
I'm going to tell my parents about these biscuits and see if they will send me some for Christmas
Freedom Foods Yeast Free Wheat Free Muesli with Wholegrains....
mmmm yummy
I managed to find some. *drools profusely*
Green and Black's are also coming out with more and more vegan dark chocolate varieties, like mint (soft centre) and espresso.
Jacqui
ooooh I found em
oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh mmmuuuu huuu haa haa haaa haaaa haaa
I'll never be the same again
Thanks Jacqui

i saw some new green and black's choccies at the health food store the other day... but they were something like $12 a block!
Did you go to "About Life", or did you find them somewhere else????abrennan
Hi
I was in GNC which used to be Russels in Glebe and I saw another Leda product so I cried a little tear and put it in my shopping bag anyway. Then out of the corner of my eye I spied, in the gluten free section, what looked like a packet of biscuits. I rwaced over and there they were, gluten free and low of the glycemic scale CHOKKIE BIKKIES the likes of which I have not tasted in years. So I bought two packets and my partner and I are restricting ourselves to one biscuit a night with a cup of tea.
Thanks for inspiring me

Yeah but at these proces you won't eat too much. Have you come across the sweet william brand they are cheaper?Imapeach
antony
true true... well, theoretically true!abrennan
and yes, william le sweet and I are well acquainted
sweet williams rice crackles..........yummmmmmy.
I still havn't finished my pack of Leda, mint slice biscuts. They are huge!
Sorry to change the chocolate biscuit subject for a minute
Has anybody ever tried the Batchelor's Beanfeast products? As far as I know they come in Spag Bog, Chili and Shepherd's Pie varieties. I bought the Spag Bog one today in a feeble attempt to get my 5 year old to eat more vegan products. I'm getting a little weary of dinner time battles lol.
I am right now tucking into a Luxury Leda biscuitJacqui
Antny
I haven't tried them myself. I observe anyone I know who has kids with the same issues. They won't eat anything the little buggers. My neice stayed over for a week a few weeks ago and she wouldn't eat anything except pasta and soup and chocolate. And she was 13.soylatte_au
Antony
I hear ya, Antony. I think they just like to see us jumping through hoops at meal times.
We have success with Beanfeast! She's eating it as we speak. So next time I'll just sneak a few more veges into the saucepan
These Leda biscuits - are they available in the regular biscuit section of Coles and Woolies? I want to ask my parents to send me some for Christmas
Roxy
not in my coles
but thery could look different stores seem to stock different things
i bought mine in a health food shop
The coles store near me has some of that brand in their healthfood section, so I;m sure if you asked they could get some in.Roxy
I've only got one Leda biscuit left
Nooooo, Antony, say it ain't so!
A non-veg friend of mine was pitying me for my horrible tim-tamless vegan diet just yesterday.
If only she knew. We have something that's better than tim-tams.
Oh, and for the record, if anyone was thinking of trying the Batchelor Beanfeasts, don't bother. They're nasty. The girls loved it, but it's a well-known fact that children have no tastebuds.
I'm going to let my partner eat it tonight, because I'm nice.soylatte_au
when we were vegetarian we used to eat a whole packet of tim tams, thosepack always had an odd number, how cruel.
beans mmmmm
